Just a Gigolo (1931) is among the last sound pictures of William Haines I needed to track down, and it was quite good. Haines tones down his obnoxious level enough for the flirting not to get annoying. Having C. Aubrey Smith there as his uncle/sidekick helped give this a different dynamic than his other box office hits, and you get to experience Irene Purcell as this was the start of her very brief Hollywood career. The result is snappy fun!
