The beginning of the end for the Tomorrowverse, and in that sense, this is a lot smaller than one might expect. The fight with a “big bad” ends pretty early and then the multiverse destruction starts happening. I like the Flash and don’t hate that it’s focused on him, but I like some of the other heroes more, so I would have preferred more of a Justice League movie. But this is intimate, tells a story that choked me up a couple times, animated well, and I’m looking forward to part 2.

A really well crafted first part of the trilogy. It utilizes The Flash and his skills to tell this story well and having it unfold in three parts allows key moments to really be highlighted. Very well made animated film.

A Flash-focused foray into a relatively subdued multiverse. The film is well-written albeit a bit sluggishly paced, with plenty of familiar characters but it often feels like you needed to have watched or read the material to get the context.

You never quite know what to expect from these DC releases, but usually if's wise to put expectations low. This one was fine. The animation is more what I'm used to, instead of the more expressive modern facelift which often feels just as plastic. The plot, while superhero generic, provides enough action and danger these heroes to handle. While I should have waited for Part Two, before I forget the whole lead up, it does set things up nicely.

The animation here is stiff and I couldn't help but roll my eyes at the way they used its multiverse. This movie is moreso aping the New 52 than the original Crisis storyline and as someone who didn't like the New 52 much I can say this movie handles that even worse where characterization comes off as flanderization and the dialog could be so painfully cringey at times. The emotional cudgel leans on Flash way too much when this is an event encompassing so many different characters.

The movie itself was fine and mildly interesting but I was more interested in the hinted at stories than the main event.
