Despite his sitcom, "According to Jim"(2001-2009) gaining some moderate success, Jim Belushi returned for another straight-to-video "K-9" buddy cop-dog check. While, surprisingly the third film in the series manages to be a minor improvement over the previous installment, however for a franchise built on dog farts and...the "charms"{?} of Jim Belushi, there isn't much left for the duo to do. This is maybe best seen in how "Jerry Lee's" sex scene developed into a full blown subplot at this point.

Marginally better than K-911, but only because it has actual jokes. But at what cost?

Somehow not as banal as the one before, but it still made me yearn for death, either my own or James Belushi's.

K-9 is one of those horribly cheesy films that never deserved a sequel, but inevitably recieved one. Although the canine antics are relatively well done, the rest of the production is a horrible mess of bad dialogue and strange plot sequences that have been done many times already. Due to this the film becomes focused on the animal, while Dooley stands about doing very little at all. Just to polish the film off there are also multiple plotholes and plenty of needlessly corny scenes. Not good.
