This is a very good timepiece (1940s). The director is a renowned poet and the idea of constructing a movie around poems is a great one. I'm not a big fan of poetry so maybe you are into poetry you might enjoy it even more (though some of it can get lost in translation). The strongest point of the movie was its ability to catch very intimate moments. I also enjoy the acting style of Tatlitug, I think that he is a world class actor and I hope that he will get more opportunities in the future.

Decent enough. It's good to see that with some money, we can also make decent historical Turkish movies about our past. Erdoğan's love for poetry can be experienced throughout the whole movie, and the leads give good performances. Though I found the cinematography trying to achieve too much. Simplicity would've helped more.

Pretty good production value for a Turkish movie, but otherwise all the depth and interest of your average mainstream movie.

Whoever told ErdoÄŸan that being an average actor, terrible poetry-loving poet and inexplicably popular figure makes you a good director, should take his word back. If he told this to himself, I am afraid there is nothing we could do but to avoid his movies.
