It's (older) kids marrying or hating their parents -- Shawn fucks his girlfriend's mom during lazy afternoons --, in a explicit but often unsatisfying and blunted depiction of wasted youth through sexuality. If Kids starts and ends with teen rough sex -- or with teens getting HIV --, Ken Park initiates by showing a teen's suicide in a skate park and ends with his friends barely remembering who he was. No yesterday, no tomorrow. This is scary.

Je l'ai vu très jeune, bien avant mon premier porno et je n'ai même pas le souvenir d'avoir eu l'envie de regarder du porno après. C'est de la merde. J'ai de la peine pour James Ransone.

I get the message, but did it really have to be so boring?

Too much kid sex, not enough substance. Larry Clark can make decent, provocative, uncomfortable movies. This one is just uncomfortable. Oh, and too much kid sex.

Like almost everything Clark and Korine touch, its full of young people fucking. These filmmakers creep me out, which may be their complete intention , in which case; Bravo creepers, bravo.

Along the lines of Kids and Gummo with more of a middle class feel. Less realistic then the later because of the sexual experiences.

Okay, with some good performances. I can see why the Family first people got it banned here, though that just made the film more interesting. If you saw kids, then you pretty much know what to expect

Edgy, explicit teen sex without compelling characters or story.

Same story, different angles. It's like a sequel to Kids (1995)

Interesting moments of life, but as a decent story or a film entirety a big failure. The theme of lost connection between kids and their parents goes on. Some good separate scenes.

Very enjoyable dark comedy elements within a nice series of character explorations.

There really is nothing good about it. This whole movie is just a bad excuse for a few provocative scenes.

Credit for trying to tackle big issues with realism I guess, but this is just garbage.

It had very explicit sex scenes..I had no expectations at all, so I was like WTF? Thought all the characters and scenes still remained realistic. Reminded me of the film 'happiness'..

I made the mistake of watching this once when it came out many years ago, so I don't remember much. It seems to me the director basically wanted to do a porno with teenagers, but didn't want to be known as a porn director, so he mixed it in with some drama and passed it off as "art" instead. Sort of like putting mustard in your coffee, I'm sure some people like it but I found it disgusting and completely out of place.

A rather undecided and unfocused film, but flows well with that thematic confusion by having a lazy, lounge-room, red-eyed feel. The acting by all is terrific and it really engulfs you in this middle-class environment where people are so bored they have to actively create problems for themselves and others.

just brutal.... i hated it. youll get to see a guy jerk off with a rope around his neck and cream all over himself and then watch his dad whip his cock out and take a piss. not my kind of movie and i tend to like larry clark films.

Yes, i have been accused of liking oversexed, exploit movies. Still, i thought the characters were surprisingly convincing. And the way Korine draws them is always good, as good as him pairing with Larry Clark to make movies. Moarrrr!

A movie made solely for its shock value. 3 way teen sex, teen pregnancy, self strangulation and masturbation, sex with adults, father molesting his son, teenager murdering his grandparents and suicide. It is implausible that such a small group of friends would have so many horrendous problems. This town would be the nut case capitol of the world if it existed. Naked Maeve Quinlan was super hot, the others are just kids which makes this mostly just sick and disturbing.

Not sure if this was more Kids (which I loved) or Happiness (which I hated). Kids also wants to be outrageous, but it has enough focus and direction to work. Ken Park is divided into several parallel plots, each about a kid who is abusive or abused or just being a total slut. It's well-written, and I actually appreciated the chutzpah of the hardcore teen pornography depicted, but it's too over-the-top to be really good. Blasphemously, the Shaggs' "Who Are Parents" plays to the closing credits.

Not anywhere near as bad as a lot of these comments would have you believe. Some good scenes and good acting, actually. Yes, and lots of sex.

*Spoiler Alert* I would say if you snipped out Harmony Korine's semi-autobiagraphical, semi-fantasy storyline with Ziggy from the Wire killing his grandparents and getting a hard-on while wearing their dentures would have made a worthwile short, overall this doesn't really have enough to say for how gratuituously pedophilic it is. But that kind of became Larry Clarks trademark pretty quick.

Effectively disturbing, unintentionally funny and gross at the same time. In some instances makes it a weird experience. I can't believe I thought people were exaggerating when they discussed this film. Which is a first I usually don't consider that much but yeah, I doubt I watch this again. I think it's to the point in terms of being direct, shocking, uncompromising and brutal. At times it gets far too self indulgent and weird (sex scenes in particular) but it hits the mark its going for.
