Robert Duvall is the worst old man actor, he is so rigid and uncomfortable to be around. What a laugh riot!

A wholly uninspired underdog rag-tag kids sports story (somehow Byong Sun's ridiculous goal still hit me in the feels though) is matched in poor quality only by the predictable yet badly executed central character development (Phil gets real crazy real fast, and repents even faster), hit-and-miss humour (more misses, obviously; the final "balls" commercial got a laugh out of me though), and Mike Ditka's acting skills-so yeah, I guess pretty much everything else. 0-0 tie game.

What the fuck is this shit? You can't just take Will Ferrell, make him act hyperactive, and expect a film to come out of the ass of the camera. For one thing, cameras don't physically work that way. They may as well have just filmed Ferrell running around acting like an idiot with Mike Ditka (?!) yelling at him for ninety minutes. Would've been better than this trash.

The only reason this movie was any good at all was for the scene where the soccer team came out of the back of the truck covered in blood to play.

Nothing spectacular here, but it's quite funny.

Amiable, enjoyable vehicle for Ferrell has an uneven tone, oscillating between the “serious” and “silly” camps he was carving out in the 00s, but a fine supporting cast, and some exciting action on the field, keep this humming through the genre checkpoints; the revelation is Ditka as a credible (and very funny) comic actor; he quite easily steals the movie from all around him. Never strives for a higher station, but emerges as a warm and likable entry in the can’t-fail underdog tradition.

Probably my least favorite Will Ferrell movie. He needs to stick with really well defined over the top character like Ron Burgandy to really be any good.

Will Farell and Robert Duvall have proven in the past that they are capable of much more than this, perhpas they just wanted to add another kids movie to their resume. It's ok and has a couple of laughs but overall its just medicore.

While still a standard family comedy affair type movie, it has enough laughs to be worthwhile. To top it all off, Mike Ditka is surprisingly good as an actor, even if this is a run-of-the-mill comedy. Who would have thought?

Amiable comedy that provides Ferrell with his best role so far, as a man who is distressed to discover that he is becoming more and more like his father.

It's bad, but it's a movie for kids. I could understand why a kid might enjoy it, but few adults are going to be giving it more praise then, "It made me laugh a few times."

The most banal of the Will Ferrell sports movies, and really, that's saying something. The movie is more annoying than actually funny, and I found Duvall to be even more grating than Ferrell's shtick. The funniest part of the movie is easily Mike Ditka, who acquits himself well as a comedian. If he landed a sitcom, I would tune in every week.

The movie isn't that great, but Ferrell is hysterical. His performance in the coffee shop is priceless.

The characters are too much of a new-york intellectual stereotype. It feels as though Noah Baumbach, who wrote and directed, fell in love with himself during the writing process

I love underdog films. It had a few laughs though I kind of hated the whole Robert Duvall part. Some big names for a movie I'd never heard of before. Through the entire movie I was trying to figure out who that kid was. I knew I recognized him. It's Peeta from the Hunger Games!

You'll kind of wish you were watching a generic cookie-cutter MIGHTY DUCKS/BAD NEWS BEARS sort of underdog kid movie when confronted with rudderless, endless, improvised scenes of Will Ferrell arguing with Alex Borstein about coffee. I'm happy everybody enjoyed themselves, I guess...

This is the type of movie where people say how much Will Ferrel sucks. He has many movies where he don't suck. Rent it to watch Mike Ditka yell at little kids, but nothing more.

For a movie with such a bad rep and what seems like no budget, I liked it. Not Ferrell's best at all but he does well carrying this film on typical Ferrell improv. Ditka was entertaining as well.

Will Ferrell displays his usual amount of humor in Kicking & Screaming, but it is clear that he is not ready to mature to the funny father role. He needs to stick with comedic cult flicks like Anchorman and Old School.
