Kids from Shaolin

What you think of the opening credits is a good indication of whether you'll like this. It is shot by the breathtaking Li river and in Ludi cave and prominently features Chinese music and rural culture, and plays like a feel-good romance/drama with a lot of very simple comedy - kung fu fighting just part of the tapestry. It is actually wonderful for what it is, and if you let go and enjoy it you're rewarded with a massive and highly intense final battle. Personally I loved it all.

Good Movie

First I was like "What the hell is this garbage?" Then I was like "Holy shit that ten year old kid's monkey fist kung fu is incredible!!" Jet Li is fantastic too.

Slow to start, but once you get past a couple of dopey songs and some lame comedy, this flick is chock full of great martial arts. The whole final battle where Jet Li uses the three section staff is amazing.

Fun but forgettable early Jet Li kung fu.
