More cerebral and emotional than the first part. The opening scene features some incredibly gorgeous black and white cinematography. Just a joy to behold. Gotta give Tarantino credit where credit is due -- I can't think of anyone working today who puts so much thought and care and love into his films.

After the torrid pace of Vol. 1, Tarantino slows down in Vol. 2 to take a more introspective look at his tale, thoroughly fleshing out characters and their backstories, giving the series an impressive emotional poignancy and brilliantly concluding his wildly entertaining and surprisingly touching story. Both movies stand on their own as excellent; together, they are greater than the sum of their formidable parts. This is the perfect ending to an amazing ride.

The notion that Tarantino adds thematic complexity or postmodern sophistication to his recreations of the genre films of past decades is largely cover for an infantilism and infantilisation that he exploits, to which he contributes, and of which he is probably victim. That his movies are (despite a veneer of sexiness) so chaste, and that this one ends as an ode to motherhood, are probably symptoms and proof that he is in fact a conformist, but one who fantasises himself as an impish little boy.

Wow! Even more violent than Kill Bill volume 1, but in a more emotional way. Years from now, THIS and Pulp Fiction will be the two QT films people will talk about. My favorite scene, and in my opinion the most violent (emotionally), is the scene where Bill, Bebe, and the Bede are all sitting at the bar while Bill makes Bebe a sandwhich. The way he moves this huge butcher knife to demonstrate his point about life and death is just stunning.

(after repeat viewings): Far more consistent in tone and overall direction. As opposed to Vol. 1 - which felt more like a genre hommage - I for one felt captivated by the character's desires and motivations that drive their killer minds. One of Tarantino's best films.

How can a movie that is so unapologetically pulpy, sensational, and indulgent, also touch a genuine note of real adult drama? By the end of it I was no longer an oh-so-smart film fan sitting back and relishing a celebration of other movies - I was a teary audience, utterly mesmerised by every moment. It sucked me right in.

I get a kick out of Daryl Hannah's performance, and the fight between her and The Bride in the trailer is cool. Overall, however, this is as bloated and self-indulgent as QT flicks get (which is saying a lot), and it has some of his weakest dialogue, I find. So this is my least favorite.

Vols 1 & 2 taken in concert represent an electric distillation of all facets of Tarantino's film-making savvy - the breathless pacing of Vol 1 giving way to the more languid, thoughtful pacing of Vol 2 (though the buried alive sequence is as discomforting as any horror sequence in recent memory). A master film-maker at the peak of his powers, drawing unexpectedly excellent performances from his cast - Thurman is sensational at the centre, but Liu, Madsen and especially Hannah are equally fine.

As with the first one, it's all about those slick action scenes. Unfortunately they also felt they needed to bolster the already lacking plotline further, resulting in plenty of dull moments between the intermittent action. By the end it felt like a mess, I couldn't bring myself to really care what the hell happened in the end. Still those action scenes are back and are slightly better than in the first, although it might be said not quite on the same scale as the original.

A terrific film, entertaining, absorbing, shockingly clever and wickedly funny, "Kill Bill, Vol. 2" is a major upgrade from its predecessor in terms of style, wit and storytelling and one of the most enjoyable films in recent memory. Full of memorable, brilliant scenes, sophisticated action, extended dialogues filled with typical Tarantino flare and with an amazing conclusion (completely different than the end of "Vol. 1"). Great performances by Thurman and especially Carradine.

Excruciating. Y did 1 film BLOAT into 2? B/c a giant ego was overpraised. Remember all the hoopla Pulp Fiction got 4 its vivid AND funny dialogue? Quentin does & so he thinks any pop-reference-filled verbal diarrhea his characters spew out makes 4 fascinating viewing. It doesn't. Neither do UNNECESSARY& POINTLESS scenes like the unfunny Bride-Learns-She's-Pregnant or Meet-The-Pimp-Who-Raised-Bill-4--No-Discernible-Reason. 1 machete-armed editor could hack both of these into 1 great flick

The two films, in order to exist properly, MUST be viewed as one and evaluated as one and this is my score for one movie: Kill Bill. Without the dialogue and closure given in the second part the first part remains little more than a super stylized action flick; then, regarding part two alone would leave out a lot of the indulgent excitement necessary to get the most out of the film. As a whole, Kill Bill is a revenge saga which despite not having too much to say, is quite an experience indeed.

I just love the fact that Vol.2 of "Kill Bill" is so completely different from Vol.1 (just compare the bodycount - Vol.1 had literally dozens of dead and/or crippled people, while Vol.2 has... two?). Volume 2 is the same old Tarantino as always, with his quirky sense of humor and amazingly clever dialogues. Both volumes of "Kill Bill" seen together are probably his best achievment to date.

Every scene and every sequence is 2 or 3 times longer than it needed to be, there are long stretches of dialog which are uninteresting and completely irrelevant to the plot, soundtrack is distractingly bizarre for no apparent reason, the plot is flat and weak, and there isn't a single character worth caring about. The combination of all these weaknesses makes for a frustratingly boring film.

Kill Bill 2 borders on perfection were it not for the ridiculous inclusion of Pei Mei pandering to the Tarantino-holics who bow at the altar of nonsensical weirdness.

This volume has less action than the first, but it is just as intense. All that was hidden in Vol. 1 is revealed, and it's done with more of the character development and dialogue-driven scenes that some thought were lacking in the first installment. The two volumes are so vastly different in tone and style that it seems odd that they were intended as one (very) long movie, but the idea of seeing them united into one film is intriguing.

The first volume of balls-to-the-wall pastiche works because all attempts at conventional storytelling are completely abandoned. So when a character backstory is suddenly introduced halfway through Volume 2, it kinda throws a wrench into the whole concept, especially when it's up against some maximally stupid martial arts nonsense.

Just like with Vol. 1, Kill Bill: Vol. 2 is hampered almost solely by its director's self-indulgence. It's a different film than its predecessor, with the focus on plot and characters rather than action, but it draws you in just as well. Characters, just with simple conversations, can captivate an audience. If nothing else, Vol. 2 will make you want to revisit the first part, as you'll now have a better context for the events that took place beforehand. As a standalone film, it's great.

I think the disappointment mostly comes from watching this one immediately after the first one. After getting his streamlined revenge bloodletting out of the way in part one, Tarantino subjects us to the uneven exposition I guess we were owed. Good thing Kill Bill 1 works as a stand-alone, 'cause this one's for the die-hards.

I'll admit that Volume 1 has the more iconic set piece, but overall volume 2 is definitely the better movie. This is where Tarantino really dives into the plot, characters, and motivations. Still not really a fan of Michael Madsen, but I guess he's somewhat of a good fit for this character. Other than my own personal preferences there's not much really to complain about with this one.

The 2nd part of a cult classic and a major hit with Tarantino Fans, Kill Bill 2 concludes this two-part story perfectly, but it's a little gratuitous for my tastes, even as a major Tarantino lover.

I finally saw this gosh-darned sequel, and blow me down if it wasn't as good as Part 1. I don't care if you're a Tarantino fan or not, these two films were well done.
