Kill the Messenger

Excellent production and a great vehicle for the cast, especially Jeremy Renner. Those looking for answers will probably be disappointed primarily because we still don't really know what the motivations of most of the peripheral players/entities were. Walks a tightrope between being really captivating and overly familiar. And walks it pretty well.

Another one of those "guy finds out the government is up to illegal activities but gets screwed trying to tell people about it" stories. A decent film.

Too boring to get through more than a third of it, especially when the gist of the plot is already known.

I'm not a big fan of the political thrillers, but this film was well build and nicely acted by Jeremy Renner. The ending was a bit flat though.

Strong acting on Renner's part but the story is rather dull. It could have been intriguing and thrilling, but focusing on him rather than the story he was reporting on wasn't necessarily a smart move.

i found first 40 minutes enjoyable as there was some investigation ('action' so to speak) ...but then film become lacking any essence. no severe intimidation of a repoter by CIA, no troubles with his employers, even no family drama. maybe this story is not meant to be a movie. good for PBS doc series or whatever but not for a movie

Strong portrait of a man, Gary Webb, who never backed down for the CIA and other corrupt scumbags. David vs Goliath more or less. Strong acting by Renner. Worth a watch.

not enough exciting

It was a good film, well directed, well written and really well acted. Kept me focused all throughout. A well made film with a really disturbing story actually, how it goes by unnoticed is beyong me with such a huge story.

An interesting story about how the CIA drug connection was exposed. Awesome performance from Jeremy Renner as the reporter. A cautionary tale about having a reckless disregard for danger. Telling the truth can be dangerous to your health and career.

There's nothing here that Hollywood doesn't usually do with "true stories", but as such, it's a surprisingly decent political thriller with Renner playing well off a formidable supporting cast.

Not as strong & impressive as a Costa-Gavras movie, but still achieves to highlight dirty American politics.

Fantastic acting and an interesting story is enough to keep you interested for most of Kill the Messenger

One of these Sunday afternoon films which will keep your interest, but a week later it will be forgotten.

A true story worth telling wrapped in a dry movie.
