Killer Cop

A less action heavy poliziotteschi and an unusual intellectual detective in the lead.

This has a very different feel than Ercoli's Gialli. It's a serious poliziotteschi which captures the confusion of its era; bombs explode & people are kidnapped. Cassinelli was a bit bland as the lead. It's not that the story required someone like Merli/Milian, but e.g. Nero might have done a better job. Fabrizi is more memorable in a smaller role as is Hollywood veteran Kennedy. Cipriani's score is very good, but familiar from other films. Solid film, but not quite among the top of the genre.
