You really do have to wonder how many times Jason Statham can star in the same movie. Not that it isn't a fairly entertaining, competently made film, but honestly - enough is enough. Dominic Purcell was an unexpected highlight for me.

It's Jason Statham vs Clive Owen in a slick, action packed spy thriller set in 1980 and focused on the repercussions of the involvement of the SAS (the British Secret Service) in the Oman war. The story is complicated but not confusing, the script has some cheesy one liners, and the cast is all pretty solid (though DeNiro is underused). It's slightly smarter than a typical summer blockbuster, but has just as much car chasin', kung fu scrappin', gun fightin' action. Good stuff.

This felt really long. Jumping from country to country and location to location didn't really add much momentum to it at all, and though some of its concepts had potential (e.g. having to coax confessions out of people as well as making their deaths look accidental), most ideas were undercooked or just fell flat. And the lame, by-the-numbers romance stuff was terrible despite Miranda Lawson. I did appreciate the front flip senton while strapped to a chair and the nonsensical sacrifice throw.

Boring, slow, and hardly even memorable. You can watch it for any one of the big names in it, but you'll probably be looking somewhere else after thirty minutes.

Has the look, feel, plot, editing, acting, and title of a made-for-TV movie. Statham plays the same generic lead role he always plays, with every line delivered in the same sleep-inducing monotone. The plot is all over the place. The director uses lots of shaky cam to try to cover up bad action choreography. The dialog throughout the film just makes you cringe, it is that horrible. Clive Owen's worst film since Shoot Em Up, De Niro's worst since Limitless, and the worst film I've seen from 2011.

If the convoluted plot, incomprehensible writing, unintelligible editing and uninspired direction don't turn you away then you'll be in store for the most characterless, pointless action saga ever captured on film, complete with a mountain-full of the cheesiest one liners in action romp history.

Neither Killer, nor Elite, this flick drags you through a snore inducing plot that you'll struggle to recall the moment it ends. Statham plays the recurring role that is himself, and DeNiro is in the movie for all of 4 minutes. Surprised this was even released in theaters, sure doesn't feel like it.

This movie is an impossibility. Jason Statham and Clive Owen cannot exist on the same dimensional plane. Even when a De Niro acts as an emulsifying agent.

Standard issue Statham actioner has an interesting, historically fascinating premise, but never reconciles the more delicate aspects of its leading characters fraught missions with its desire to give its true leading man an opportunity to indulge in his normal arse kicking, leaving the film oscillating between being a thin political thriller, and an overly complicated time-waster and never really succeeding on either front. At least marginally watchable when De Niro and Owen are in play.

Has some nice action in it, but the story and writing are completely mediocre (with a love story that just doesn't work on any level.) Nothing special from Statham & De Niro, though I liked Clive Owen, and Dominic Purcell is entertaining in a role that's very different from most of what I've seen him in before.

Statham was all wrong for this one. Good for the action but he seemed out of place with everything else including the girl and the purpose of the "mission". Clive Owen was good.

I've said I haven't been a huge fan of Statham's action movies but I've liked a few, and this is one. I don't love 'em, but I do think he's a great action star who doesn't pick the best of movies. But enough of that... it's pretty clever, has an interesting subject matter, but it's all about the action, and some of the action is pretty cool. Clive Owen, Statham, De Niro... it could have been amazing but hell, it's fun, I'll take it.

This had some good action in it but it also had the most winding, meandering plot I have seen. I kept waiting to see De Niro do some more stuff and he was really absent in this. Clive Owen was great and Statham was fine but I just don't understand why this movie was so drawn out. I can only imagine that it was because this movie is based off of a book. They must have tried to put all the parts in and put in extended action scenes for Statham. It was a really weird mix and hurt the film.

Started slow but a cool, dry 'sploitation feel grew out of it -ex-sas as a cabal of bankers and businessmen is pretty funny. Lacklustre chases and terrible fights on top of the cliche character cheese wore me down though, had enough by halfway.

Not terrible. It's fun seeing Clive Owen as the bad guy and De Niro shows more energy than he's put into a lot of his late career fare. All that said, this is still a Jason Statham vehicle so you know what you're in for. Machismo, gun play, punching, kicking, and guys talking in scratchy voices.

I actually had NO idea who Jason Statham was until quite recently, when I started catching shitty movies on cable. This has got to be the least interesting flick Robert De Niro has done.

There are some good and solid action scenes, my biggest issue is that Jason Statham doesn't seem to fit in with the early 1980s aesthetic of the period. Clive Owen though rocks, too bad he never wanted to play James Bond.

Like pretty much every Jason Statham action movie it's mediocre at best. The action scenes felt more like crappy versions of Bourne fights with and the script was never very clever, witty or sharp. Even so, Clive Owen and Robery De Niro save it from being an utter waste of time.

Hmmm, very confusing storyline. Very hard to follow in the beginning. They skip ahead to new scenes way too fast sometimes so you really dont have time to figure out what's going on. Gets better at the end. Lots of talented actors, but still just a mediocre movie.. Whats with the crappy title btw? (yeah, I know it's a remake.. but come on..). Love Statham action movies anyway..

Ok, this is really nothing more than just an average piece of SAS-UK based thriller, but Jason Statham gives it all: he kills some bad guys with a bread as a pistol silencer, he takes a man down with a chair tied to his back, and he is also some kind of moral guy, that just murders the men he has to murder in order to get the the whole mission done. Fantastic.

"Killer Elite" claims inspiration from actual events, yet it struggles to strike a chord of authenticity. Its action fails to leave a lasting impression despite abundant hand-to-hand skirmishes and the leads' remarkable endurance in taking beatings. Overall, it could be a better cinematic effort that harnesses the full potential of its cast.
