Better than you'd expect a low-budget movie with a title like this to be. It knows exactly what it is and has fun with it, even managing to pull off some genuinely clever clown gags. The animatronics are also pretty impressive. Good cheesy fun.

A no-holds-barred documentary about that repressed moment in history when humanity was almost consumed by a group of extraterrestrial clowns. I'm happy that someone was brave enough to tell it like it is, risking the wrath of the Powers That Be. Hopefully this will finally silence the clownspiracy theorist nutbags.

Comedy. Sci-fi. Horror. You took my three favorite genres, mixed them together and made the stupidest movie I've ever seen. And I sincerely thank you!

I couldn't hate it. I tried, but every time I would put on my elitist scowl to harrumph at the poor acting, lame effects and shoddy script one of those damn clowns would come on screen and I couldn't repress my glee. They look damn ridiculous, their modes of harvesting people are damn ridiculous too, and they have ZERO subtlety. They legitimately were marching through a road on a gigantic vacuum sucking up people in cotton candy cocoons. Pure movie magic.

Killer Klowns gets an absolutely atrocious rep, but honestly I think it's a lot more like films like Gremlins or even Big Trouble in Little China, than any number of those ridiculous Leprechaun or Hellraiser sequels. For a sub-million budget, it's actually legitimately well-shot. This is a film that knows what it is, plays to its strengths, and doesn't try to be anything more. Does that make it anything above average? Probably not, but you'll enjoy yourself and the clown tropes.

There's a lot of outrageous stuff going on in this low budget horror movie - and the theme song is pretty groovy! Look, it's not scary, it's not good, but it has a charm that's not easily dismissed. Check it out.

This movie totally lived up to my expectations. There were indeed some killer klowns, and they did come from outer space. Really, with a movie like this, it deserves points just for keeping me interested. It's pretty consistently funny, with a good variety of death scenes, the effects are pretty good. It plays off of its own absurdity pretty well.

Likeably dreadful, sort of. It needed more of John Vernon's deranged cop - he has some bafflingly great lines. And the blond girl from Weird Science is in it, so that's something. I can't imagine why you'd want to watch this, but it probably won't kill you.

Certainly bizarre and occasionally disturbing , but that's not enough to make a good film. It's really bad at maintaining tension and while it attempts comedy it doesn't really succeed at it. That said, there were several cool scenes with the clowns and the strangeness of the final act is mesmerizing in its own way.

Ludicrously bizarre, terribly acted, visually garish, really it's all over the place. Feels like they loved the premise so much that the ending is just sort of tacked on - they don't even save the townspeople! Great for some drunken laughs.

Bof ! Typique des films d'horreur de l'époque en matière de narration, personnages et décors. Juste quelques gros moyens très extravagants et donc, très moches. La moyenne pour le sentiment de nostalgie, le titre du film et la belle gueule du flic !

Yes, it is intenionally bad, but that doesn't give it a free pass. A movie almost always fails when it tries to be so-bad-its-good. This is a prime example. See "Valley of the Dolls" for a primer on how it's supposed to be done...

The acting is appropriate for the type of movie. I don't think it set out to win any oscars. The story is absurd. The costumes and special effects are probably the most stand out parts of the movie. It's obvious more effort went into both deparments than the script. The clowns have ridiculous methods of disposing of the humans. This is the kind of movie that is truly a product of the 80's. It's in the same vein as Return of the Living Dead.

Yes this movie is utterly terrible, with atrocious special effects, an idiotic plot, terrible dialog and horrendous actors. However it manages to perfectly slide into the niche of "so bad it's good." It's pretty much impossible not to laugh at how poorly this movie manages to do pretty much everything.

This horror comedy has two elements that make it work. First, the film is the brain child of the Chiodo Brothers who did effects work for the "Critters" series and "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure", so the clown-related effects are magnificent. Second, it's a knowing affectionate tribute to 1950's sci-fi flicks even borrowing the beginning of "The Blob" outright and visually referencing "Forbidden Planet". It's not a masterpiece, but it's a gem.

This is stupid and it knows it's stupid, so one can hardly complain that it's stupid; but even if it's self-aware, you can't excuse the terrible pacing and dialogue (and that theme tune is clunky, not catchy). The practical FX are creative, but otherwise it's a tacky drag and the loose editing robs kills of any impact. Regardless, I'm sure no matter where this fell on the quality spectrum, it was destined to be a cult classic from the moment they called it Killer Klowns from Outer Space.

Not the best horror/comedy around, but gets the job done. It's a fun movie, but I wish it was a little more wild or intense. It seems as though the Klown costumes limited them, even though those costumes are awesome and help make the Klowns the best part of the movie.

How kan you not like "Killer Klowns From Outer Space"? Killer Klowns is a great komedy by the Chiodo brothers that doesn't take itself very seriously. And neither should you! If you're taking it seriously, you're missing the point. The soundtrack is also a lot of fun! If you want something mindless and silly check out "Killer Klowns From Outer Space." Probably my favorite kult film.

For what is is, (a horror movie where we get alien clowns with big nasty teeth killing teens at some amusement park) , its not bad. Of course, its mega cheesy. Of course the acting is horrendous. but its the 80's, so we expect nothing less. The horror is well done, tho not frequent and the script is laughable. But what do you expect with alien clowns? For the fans.

Even bad movies can be good, if done right, and most of the time 'the right way' seems to be often effortless. Makers of this film try so hard to come up with funny lines and outrageous scenes but I felt trying as hard to find them funny. Same with acting - everyone is doing bad acting, but since they are bad actors even bad acting is bad. The best thing here is the title. Oh, and creature effects are surprisingly good.

(Viewed on 09/13): Wacky and charming horror-comedy that is certainly not for all tastes but has creativity to spare. Crude to a fault, the movie gets by on the strength of its imagination. The costumes and set designs are impressive for the miniscule budget, and while the acting is generally quite bad, the performances are at least likeable, which counts for a lot in a camp film like this. The Chiodo brothers work overtime to make this passion project fly, but they somehow pull it off.

This movie was kooky and Kraaaazy! So, I have to admit something embarrassing... this movie scared the crap out of me when I was younger. So, with a lump in my throat, I tried this movie out again as an adult. The clowns are still frightening as heck but the poor writing and plot made the movie pretty toothless.
