Surprised me by being a lot more enjoyable then I thought it was going to be. The first act slows down way too much at the end, but once the robbery gets started, it really picks up, with a strong Dog Day Afternoon influence. Nothing really memorable about it, but a nice way to spend some time.

Rewatched this for the first time since it's original home video release. Couldn't remember much about it beyond the basics, the association with QT andmy vague recollection was it wasn't great. It turns out my recollection was way off ... it's utter dog shit!

Positively screams of a post-Reservoir Dogs Tarantino influence, but it's a moderately enjoyable, hyper-violent little bank heist film nonetheless. Also, to be frank, a little bit of Julie Delpy's tits go a long way in earning a green score.

An interminable bore of a film populated with shallow, stupid, unsympathetic characters spouting banal dialogue at each other in the absence of anything resembling an intriguing plot, emotional hook, or single original idea.

The 2nd act was ridiculously boring, but hey! Delpy gets naked!

An American safecracker teams up with some French junkies to rob a bank. The heist part of this movie is good, but the best part is the drug fueled bender the night before the job. "If you smoke this, you will feel as if the world is inside a bubble of glass, and you are rubbing up against it like a bad windshield wiper." Awesome. There's a sex scene that is crosscut with short clips from Nosferatu which is cool. Plus, anything with Julie Delpy's tits is OK by me.

Feels a bit Tarantino-lite. Not terrible, but not that good either. Delpy is the highlight.

Its heist-gone-wrong plot drew comparisons to Reservoir Dogs in the 90's, but with time (and therefore distance) it's clear that K.Z is a different animal altogether, one that is closer to a Gen X take on Dog Day Afternoon filtered through the prism of the French New Wave. Avary's stylistic flourishes are often contrived, and the use of slo-mo is excessive in the final showdown, but there are a few intensely crafted scenes, and Anglade steals the show as the gang's drug-crazed psychotic leader.

Saw most of it - not impressed. Tarantino must be the real brains behind Pulp Fiction, though Avary says otherwise.

Admittedly it is many years since I saw this, but my recollection is that it was unpleasant expression of nihilism…but not in a good way.

Saw it twice, completely sober and aware, but don't remember it at all. That's a bad sign.

I used to think this movie was very special, but I've come to see it as highly derivative; of course, it's gotta be hard to make a heist movie that isn't. It does have some memorable scenes and is visually striking. The existential angle makes it stand out from its cinematic brothers more than anything, but the brightest spot is the soundtrack by tomandandy.

Average. An American safe cracker teams up with his Parisian psychotic friend to take down a bank. The story meanders a lot till the final act with lots of drugs, hip pointless talk and totally unnecessary unconnected plot points like the titular Zoe. An attempt at chic profundity that falls flat. Recommended for Stoltz fans only.

I loved this, just about every bit of it, and even how Eric Stoltz's character ignores every obvious red flag in front of him before going through with this job. Now let's do some heroin.

It's like a mix of The Big Lewbowski and Reservoir Dogs... except it's the bargain bin brand with added preservatives and it comes in a can. And it actually tastes pretty bad, but you can eat it when you're short of cash and drunk.

Insanity reins with a crazy heist led by a maniacal murdering junkie idiot. The stupid version I watched had English subtitles for the English and nothing for the French. However, I'm sure I didn't miss much, and may have actually been saved from some of the idiotic script, probably giving me a better impression of the movie than it deserves. From half way the movie falls flat but it had a few interesting moments in the beginning. Predictable ending. The robbery was idiotic and nonsensical.

Decent, but didn't really do it for me. I have to be in a very particular mood to enjoy a film like this, usually buzzed and irritable.

Mixing indie and mainstream themes and featuring solid performances throughout (Anglade in particular), this bank heist tale offers something a bit different from the usual fare. Violent yet amusing, nothing seems contrived (bar Zoe's inclusion, ironically) and it all has quite a 'real' feel to it - albeit with a cartoonish quality that peaks toward the end. It's a tough one to describe but that's just part of its allure. Might be no Pulp Fiction, but Avary's done a good job here.

If it wasn't for Julie Delpy's boobs I wouldn't have watched as much of this shitpile as I did. What's with the moronic thumpity thump synthesizer backing track? Sub-Tarantino tripe from film school narcissistic turd Avary
