Both strangely appealing and completely inept at trying to cash in on the indiana jones hype, which in turn cashed in on the original quartermain, i guess, and you don't care, you can stop reading now.

These Allan Quartermain films were terrible, low rent ripoffs of Indiana Jones. Watch at your own peril.

Very fun and dumb ripoff of Indiana Jones. It runs a little long and drags near the end, but the score is pretty catchy.

John Rhys-Davies machine-guns some German soldiers to death and uses their corpses as stepping stones in order to cross a pool of quicksand. That's gotta be worth some ranking points. The film itself is utterly ridiculous. One tedious action sequence after another, most of which defy all logic and break pretty much all of the laws of physics. Terrible.

Things worth noting: 1)In a pinch, Nazis will make fine flotation devices; 2)When dropped in molten lava, Turks tend to explode so exercise caution when dealing with Turks and lava; 3)Typically, African natives are only slightly more primitive and superstitious than your average college football fan, 4)Even if you're grave-robbing defenseless kittens, you'll still triumph in the end and as long as you're American; and most importantly, 5)Quote "Germans make the best laxatives", unquote.

It's kinda sexist and kinda racist, but the even bigger problem is that it's terribly boring, people love to crow about practical effects, but movies like this show that bad practical effects are just as bad as bad cgi. The writing seems mostly ok, although the climax is really haphazard and rushed, but the acting is so damn awful that this has no life to it.

Richard Chamerlain is Indiana Jones with a sawed-off shotgun! This movie is incredible. It is so terribly awful that it actually becomes amazing. The acting is poor (especially by Sharon Stone), the plot is ridiculous (although in all honesty no more ridiculous than an Indiana Jones film), and the action sequences are hokey. Listen for a total knock off of John Williams' score. Watch this film if you're in the mood for a comedy. You will not be dissapointed.

Was this the first Chamberlain Quatermain movie? If it is I saw it in the theater with my grandma when I was nine and I knew it was a piece of shit then. Rewatching it more recently there are some hilariously bad moments.

This was one of those adventure films which tried to ride on the glory of the Lost Ark by Steven Spielberg. Even John Rhys-Davis was hired here for resemblance. There is no charismatic Indy here, nor a good-looking better half.

A rent budget Indiana Jones with a young Sharon Stone. Cannon isn't known for high art or quality stuff, but it's usually entertaining enough blue collar made looking stuff. There really aren't enough true adventure films anymore, so you can't be too hard on this one.

Fun all the way. One of the best B movies ever. Hilarious and with a great soundtrack. the best Indiana Jones clone ever. A must see.

The length of breadth of Sharon Stone's acting ability 'without' nudity.

Utterly idiotic rip-off of the Indiana Jones movies--complete with a shameless imitation-John-Williams score (Jerry Goldsmith ought to have been sued for plagiarism)--done by people with almost no intelligence and absolutely no taste.

A villain dies multiple times, the movie works mostly as a light hearted comedy adventure and still features massive amounts of genocide. I'm amused at how much Cannon ripped off the Indy Jones franchise.

This is a very poor imitation of Raider's of the Lost Ark, filled with poorly thought out scenes.

I like movies like this but during the movie I had this feeling that this is more or less rip off of Indiana Jones. Even though this thing have something more than the shit movies of today.

Perfect choice, if you're tired, hungover, like Sharon Stone, adventure movies, jungle + desert settings and want to watch something that doesn't enable your brain in any way. :)
