Much like life itself, Bill Murray's the best thing in it.

Once, long ago, there was a time when the Farrelly brothers created quality comedy...okay, they created comedy...okay, they made movies...kind of...but at least quality actors were still accepting the roles. This is an example of one of those films. Quaid, Harrelson, and Murray keep this hole-ridden ship afloat by furiously working the buckets for 90+ minutes. Was it amusing? Sure. Could it have been better? Definitely. Do I recommend it? I've run out of space in this review to answer that...

This movie has everything: amish people, one handed bowlers, nice titties, Bill Murray, Jonathan Richman (yes, THE Jonathan Richman) and Woody Harrelson rocking the best/worst hairdo ever.

Balances its jokes and subplots and underdog sports story pretty amusingly and is an easy watch. It’s all hampered by Randy Quaid though, who I think is one of the most unfunny and physically repulsive people to ever achieve anything resembling leading man status.

Murray and Harrelson are too good for this weird mix of puerile slapstick and dark tragedy.

Forgot to rank this forever ago. It's not the most memorable comedy at all, but there are still a lot of quotable lines and hilarious scenes and the two leads work together pretty well. Some of it was silly and that rubbed off on me the wrong way for some reason. It's not terrible though.

Dumb and Dumber by the numbers but doesn't quite re-bottle the lightning. The lovable losers aren't as lovable, their chemistry more forced. The soundtrack sounds only half inspired. Skidmark is certainly no Seabass. But Bill Murray is worth watching every second he's onscreen, and of course the hairpieces have a place in movie history. But how high can I really rate a movie whose top selling points include the hairpieces?

The Farrelly Brothers really just can't seem to miss. Bill Murray and Woody Harrelson both have unique comedic roles in this laugh out loud romp about...of all things...bowling.

I don't like the ending that much, but otherwise this is a decent and sometimes quite funny movie.

Very fun movie. Whatever happened to Vanessa Angel, anyway? I really loved Weird Science.

This farce has a lot of big laughs. {I'm glad the Amish don't go to movies!} Quaid and Harrelson both deliver good portrayals of zany characters. It was too predictible and several of the gags seemed recycled from yesteryear.

Bill Murray's hair in this movie is epic! Donald Trump has nothing on him! Randy Quaid's best performance. Everything about this movie is perfect. Especially the ELO music during the tournament. <3 this movie muches.

The comedy in this movie is rather predictable but somewhat funny, it isn't really a memorable movie, and to create a comedy movie on the sport of bowling is also rather bizzare. However Murray's performance in this movie is just great.

Mistakes | 49 47th |
Mistakes - 1) Ishmael's chest tattoo is visible before he gets it. 2) During the Reno tournament, there are several instances where you can see the scoreboard above the lanes. Each time, the scoreboard has multiple names under each of the lane headings despite the fact that only one bowler is on each lane. 3) In Reno tournament Big Ern crosses foul line and throws a strike. In tournament play that would count as a zero and the pins would be reset.

Some funny moments, but not enough Bill Murray. Overall, I was never really on board so the final face-off merely saved the film rather than being a slam-dunk.

Not all the humor works, but when it does it works well. Murray steals the show but Harrelson and Quaid both hold up their ends.

This is an underrated Farelly brothers' comedy. There are a lot of funny jokes and Woody Harrelson is great. Bill Murray steals all the scenes that he is in.

Was funnier in the 90's, but it remains one of the better Farrely films. It is too long and the musical montages are overkill, but Harrelson is great as a life long loser, and Quaid matches him as a dim witted amish man. Much attention is rightly given to Murray, who plays a slimey prick incredibly well, and it is one of the better films about bowling.
