Peter Sarsgaard is narcotically delicious. An interesting biopic with pacing problems.

Really great bio-pic with a very memorable central romance. Neeson is spectacular as Kinsey. The way he connects to the stubborness of his character while at the same time illiciting empathy from the audience is amazing stuff.

"Sex...can cut you wide open!" Despite my love and feelings that Peter Sarsgaard is one of today's best actors, no one can pull off such a stupid line. It's just sex, and this film makes it seem like it's the difference between life and death. Oh, and it's really no more than a made for TV movie.

Something that happens rarely, a biography that should be made is made. The film has a lot to say, but the pacing had the capacity to throw me off a little bit. I'd recommend it to most everyone, though.

Very well made and acted film with Liam Neeson and Laura Linney. The look at Kinsey and the Sex Revolution is handled with care and respect from director Bill Condon. Explicit in places but in a tasteful manner. Never boring and is fascinating to see the life and thinking of this man confronting a society.

Very interesting and at times, somewhat moving film about the life and times of Alfred Kinsey. Maybe I'm biased because Bill Sadler does grace the screen for a few minutes as an out-there pervert type character, and as you may well know, he can do no wrong. But even if he wasn't in this film, it would still be a great way to spend a few hours.

A sort of educational film on enlightened, tolerant attitudes towards sex disguised as a biopic. Earnest and sort of boring. Probably only good for promoting abstinence. Show it to your kids and they'll probably lose interest in sex and take up knitting instead.

Unless the thought of Liam Neeson making out with another guy turns you on, better just skip this one. I didn't, I watched it, fast forwarding through those parts with my trusty Tivo, and this movie ends up painting what seems to be a fairly accurate portrait of the man. A guy who in the study of sex gets a little obsessed with the topic. And a little too open while speaking about it, especially with his kids. Limits, man! Limits!

Suitably clinical yet Neeson's performance and manner makes it compelling, with the directorial flourish level at just right to make it visually engaging even when it is just people talking about shagging!

I very seriously doubt that Dr. Kinsey ever had the, ah, unusual liaison he's depicted as having in this movie, but otherwise it's very close to the true story of the making of the infamous "Kinsey Report". Good drama and another reminder of how fine the "good old days" really weren't

Good flick that manages to avoid most of the pitfalls inherent in episodic narratives covering long stretches of time. Great cast. I was a student in Bloomington toward the end of the Kinsey Institute's heyday (Kinsey was dead for over 20 years at that point)...Herman Wells was still alive then, and I remember seeing him once or twice. Wherever they filmed this, it, sadly, looks nothing like Bloomington.

This movie gets big points from me for doing what the report was meant to do--illuminate the endless variations of sexuality without being judgmental or one-sided. It's an overwhelmingly sex-positive film that makes only the barest caveats and never depicts discrimination of any kind in a careless way, god bless it. The acting is excellent, too. My problem is that Kinsey never quite decides whether it wants to be about the man or the issue, and that's problematic for the narrative.

Neeson does a fine job of portraying the ever-quirky Kinsey. Characters such as this are fascinating because they view the world with such amazing detachment, yet are unaware of (or are unable to help) their own behavior. Kinsey's was especially ironic as he studied mating behaviors (admittedly of fruit flies) while being generally unable to engage in normal mating behaviors himself. The film is fascinating, funny, and sometimes painful. But most certainly not boring.

Kinsey is one of my heroes and although this biopic gets some things wrong, and it definitely indulges in myth-making, it's still refreshing, eye-opening and even tender. Straight critics usually go out of their way to point out the faults of a film that genuinely offers challenging views of sexuality, usually without being able to site another film that's superior. Nevertheless, "Kinsey" and Kinsey are unique.

Kinsey raped babies for hours to see how many times he could make them scream. Table 34 in his book "Sexual Behavior in the Human Male" indicates that [he] made an 11-month-old boy "orgasm" 14 times in 38 mins. A 4-year-old "orgasmed" 26 times in 24 hrs. A 2-year-old 7 times in 9 mins. "[Some boys]...fail to reach climax even under prolonged and varied and repeated stimulation; but, even in these young boys, this probably represents psychologic blockage more often than physiologic incapacity."

a very entertaining movie for the first hour or so, it starts to drag as it gets into the cliche biopic stage of the world turing against our protagonist, but picks up again. It really shows why what Kinsey did was so important for our country. The interview with the older woman near the end of the movie made my cry. And a great performance by the always wonderful Liam Neeson.
