Top badass moment? The alleyways making Dublin look more like New York. The only people that ever go into them are pimps, the homeless, muggers, refuse collectors, Terminators and Batman’s parents. This isn't a documentary about Brotherhood of Man, but rather a story of two kids who go to Dublin to buy wheelie shoes, which are things I have an entirely irrational hatred of. To me they’re just a twisted ankle waiting to happen. Then they go home. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

(minor spoilers) The transition from black-and-white to colour and back is supremely well-judged. The tone is one step from despair. But still, they cling, for hope in the face of adversity, and innocence in the face of corruption. I hope they make it.
