Fairly typical "no good deed goes unpunished"-type film with a man getting entangled with a criminal, histrionic young woman. Quite decent for the first third or so, but the introduction of her friends leads to a lot of tiring coincidence and happenstance. Kinda makes me wanna go around describing things as "creamy" to see how other people respond.

Perhaps there's some camp in the delinquents' beatnik slang, but the main reason this hasn't disappeared is that for many men, the idea of being under the thumb of an in-her-prime Ann Margret is pretty damn hot & the first third carries a Penthouse Forum sexual charge. That charge disappears in the middle however once her friends show up & the film becomes as content to aimlessly hang out as they do. Fortunately, it picks up in the last 1/3 when alot more than personal reputation is at risk.

A very strange story indeed. Acting isn't THAT bad, just some wooden parts. Pretty good MST3K commentary.

I'd say this was a "creamy" that went sour but that'd mean it was once cream. This was spoiled from the udder beginning. And man, Ann-Margret must have spooked that cow good. Forsythe plays an improbable Senate prospect getting pushed around by a bunch of bratty teens; he would have been eaten alive by any political circle. [MST3k does a good job riffing this but the skits are pushing it a little too hard much like the film itself. Still this is a good way to break up the z-grade genre flicks.]

This movie isn't bad because it was filmed poorly, it's bad because it's designed to punch you in the gut for the sake of punching you in the gut. It is a well constructed movie, filmed nicely, good acting, cool enough dialogue, but the longer it goes on the more you despise each character as they all get entrapped in more and more awful doings. There is no purpose behind all the misery in this movie, it's just there to have something happen in the movie, and that is why it is bad.

Forsythe is his usual genial self, even when victimized. Ann Margrock munches it a bit at times, but is generally fun (as well as of course very hot indeed). Best of all I think was Peter Brown as the philosophical chauffeur. Nice ending (touching as well). Movie is a nice sendup of the typical clue-free liberal outlook/lifestyle. Also MST donates some good lines to the cause..."MORE CLOTHES! GOTTA GET MORE CLOTHES!" lol I must add though that Midge left rather abruptly for someone so abject.

For a conservative juvenile delinquency film, and a Mystery Science Theater episode, this movie isn't that bad. Technically competent, plotted well, inoffensive dialogue (it has its moments though..."I'm dyin' in a rush") and even the acting isn't terrible. Mst3k score: 6/10

It's terrible, but it's also featured in the single most entertaining MST3K episode I've yet seen. It gets points for that (the MST3K track is seriously truly hilarious. "I KNEW WE'D SEE THAT ONE AGAIN!") and what I seem to recall as being a quite epic sequence of face-zooming. Though the case might be that I'd fallen asleep and that was a different movie altogether. If you can watch the MST3K version, do it. If not.. Don't. It's quite bad.

Ann-Margaret isn't good enough eye candy to make this tolerable. Acting is alright though.
