Koara kachô

Pretty stupid, but has a few redeeming values. If it wasn't for the fact that the main character is a human-size koala, this movie would be utter trash. Should not be seen while sober.

Bizarre comedy from the same director as Calamari Wrestler, this is unfortunately not nearly as funny...there's a handful of good bits (the obvious dummies in the fight scenes, some of the Koala's wacky dreams), but they're too few and far between. The humor of seeing dramatic scenes played straight with a Koala protagonist isn't really enough to stretch to feature length.

There's really nothing like it.

Not horrible if viewed as a parody of the psychological thriller with too many twists thrown in, but i get the feeling that despite the protagonist being a giant koala, the filmmakers may have been trying to play it straight. And there are too many plot holes for that.

I laughed a few times at the sheer stupidity of this film.

What really sold the movie was that there's a strange seriousness to it Executive Koala shrugs off being restrained to any rationale whatsoever, but except for being spontaneously bombarded with a FANTASTIC musical number, everything remained deadpan, as if this was how the world really is and this how all movies really are.

Don't give up on this one; just when it seems the joke is played out, it turns it up another notch.
