Koko-di Koko-da

Starts off with a scene of shockingly mundane horror, then flips it into a very effective semi-Lynchian nightmare that stops just short of either a complete gutpunch or some sort of catharsis. Which may well be the point; some things aren't getoverable, and reality doesn't care about your dreams of do-overs.

A mix of whimsical fantasy, pitch-black comedy, and nightmarish horror, the effect is a bizarre mix of Antichrist, Carry On Camping, and any David Lynch movie. It's at least in part about grief and the difficulty of overcoming irrational and unpredicted sudden violence. And a warning not to go camping in northern Europe outside summer.

This must be what PTSD feels like.

I like the weird and twisted horror things. Not the kind that just rely on gore or try to disgust you with physical things, but the kind that really make you feel uneasy with their atmosphere and images. Really loved some of the shots here and the lighting was incredible. It does catch the nordic summer night and morning perfectly, along with the sound of mosquites all around you. Also, I see what you did there white dog. White cat.

Once again I find myself watching a movie with the 'horror' tag ('Horror, Comedy' in RT??) that is anything but. It's an ok drama
