Norman Law Man directs this affable kung fu comedy about the wisecracking Lun Man-chui (Dicky Cheung), who is a master in japes, snipes, and witty insults. His family forces him to put his mental agility to the test and study to become the first certified Cantonese scholar. His rival is a handsome kung fu master named Liu Sin-hoi (Aaron Kwok), who is more than Lun's equal in terms of wit. (allrovi.com)

Low-brow martial arts comedy that tries to redeem itself by having the characters engage in a lot of wordplay (except it is in Cantonese, and whoever subtitled this wasn't getting some of the jokes). The few fights are fair but not special, while the physical humor is aimed at a young teenager level. It's like an Adam Sandler comedy: there are parts that make you laugh, but most is generally forgettable.
