Self-made businessman Vinayachandra Kurup (Balachandra Menon) is a martinet at work & at home, with his mother (Kaviyoor Ponnamma), wife Vasantha (Geetha), brother Shanthan (Jayaram), uncle Gangadharan (Oduvil Unnikrishnan) & younger sister Sathi (Monisha). When Shanthan marries Beena, Vinayan's steno, without his permission, Vasantha sides with Shanthan, causing discord between Vinayan & Vasantha & leading to her leaving the house.
