Ukrainian Soviet drama about a local white boy being in love with a local Jewish girl which is not that popular within their social surroundings. What was positive was how down to earth the main actors was for this story. What was not so good was the creative. Most of the film was poses with title cards telling the story. Wish they'd done more with the visual story telling as by this point in time the good directors knew how to tell it masterfully with images. Not Grigori Gritscher-Tscherikower.
