Kynigoi, Oi

Angelopoulos' scathing satire about the guilt, lack of responsibility, selfishness, and hubris felt by a group of aristocratic Greeks that were connected to the 'extermination' and containment of political dissidents(read: communists) during the civil war is a challenging, complex and gripping treatise on the failure of a nation to adequetely deal and learn from its recent past. The long takes that cut through three different time zones in a seamless fashion are extraordinary.
