Michael Mann's (HEAT, MIAMI VICE) gutsy telefilm tells the tale of two skilled professionals--one a cop, the other a criminal--who aren't as different as they think. Vincent Hanna (Scott Plank) is an intense cop on the trail of ruthless armed robber Patric McLaren (Alex McArthur). After a botched heist, the two men confront each via a full scale battle on the seedy streets of Los Angeles. (Amazon.co.uk)

Even though it's burdened with cheap TV aesthetics, some classic Mann melancholia is perceivable. But knowing the later deluxe version this feels completely remote, like truncated amateur theater. And that Plank guy in the Pacino role really takes the cake for lousy tough guy posing. But then again, only great actors can speak Mann's dialogue and come out alive.

It's okay as a curio for people who really love Heat, not really recommendable though and that ending is awful.
