A mix of police procedural and telenovela that works in its fashion. For us hipster Anglophones it is blessed with an unusual setting, so we can show how cool we are for having seen it.

The film is based on real events and is set in the early 1990s, the era of terrorism in Peru, specifically during Operation Victoria, which led to the capture of terrorist leader Abimael Guzmán.
