An improvement over Schroeder's More in almost every way. Still, the movie does get incredibly dull at times, especially during the festival scene.

Schroeder takes us to the journey of self-discovery through the uncharted territories of Papua New Guinea. Central part of the movie could be edited into a documentary about indigenous tribes and their festivals. It really gets boring. The rest of this movie is a hippie tale of sorts. Plot is thin, but the meditative pace and cinematography proves to be enjoyable in the right mood. Oh, and Pink Floyd did the soundtrack. You might want to bring some drugs to this one.

A hard one to rank. I appreciate a lot of what it attempts and in some areas it does succeed. It has this wonderful spiritual atmosphere. However, it begins running out of steam halfway through and the festival sequence drags on and on. The Pink Floyd soundtrack is excellent but perhaps could have been used a bit more, it certainly would have livened up the slower sequences that lack music.

This is a companion piece to Schroeder's "More", but I liked that one better. It's biggest asset is the cinematography which shows beautiful New Guinea nature. Characters play supporting roles and as the film progresses, I didn't really care about their fate. Towards the end even Schroeder seems to be more interested in filming the tribal festival and traditions. Pink Floyd soundtrack helps somewhat.
