La belle saison

a young lesbian woman flees the oppressive cultural mores of rural France for the big city. There she hooks up with a mob of screeching female social justice warriors. She enlivens the film by getting one of the more attractive ones to appreciate the glory of girl on girl action. And err, some other stuff

Really liked this one. The characters felt real and the actresses really put themselves out for the film. It's beautifully shot and captures both the beauty of the countryside and likewise the period details and clothes of 70's Paris. It's biggest flaw is that the story goes pretty much how you expect it to go without offering any suprises along the way.

Decent coming-of-age lesbo-drama. The main character is likeable, a decent blend of humble and outgoing. The relationship with her parents is quite interesting as she tries to hide her taboo sexual orientation despite bringing a girlfriend home. It's even a little sad at the end. But, their love affair seemed more casual than eternal. The thing I liked most was the film being set on a farm and seeing lots of countryside. Captures the excitement of youth and 1970s problems in a non-cheesy way.

Suffragette meets Blue Is The Warmest Colour. Far better than the former for having engaging, relatable characters; not really as outstanding as the latter in its attempt to depict a believably intense relationship, but few things are.

script isn't exceptional, but the sex scenes are decent, "femme farmer" is totally my type, and a naked queer femme on a balcony screams "down with the bourgeoisie!" so of course i liked this better than most lesbian movies.

Sweet summertime... lesbian style. Nice film. Nothing truly standout. Easy warm story.
