Almost boring for the lack of plot.

As much as I love Bokanowski's L'ange, I love this just as much, if not a bit more. Bokanowski is a visionary and arguably one of the most important avant-garde and surrealist filmmakers ever, and this film, his debut, is like a nightmare put on film which seems to foreshadow the work of David Lynch. Hypnotic, and unsettling, thanks in part to the terrifying, atmospheric score by Michèle Bokanowski, this is a fiercely unique and truly masterful film.

I have a bias towards experimental things so that helps explain the 95, but here's my justification: every now again there's a horror film that makes you feel like you've stumbled across something you shouldn't be seeing. This happens more with shorts, because it's harder to stretch that feeling out to a feature length, but this does it. No, I don't know what the fuck is going on, but the imagery worked. Also, the noise in the beginning portion is fantastic and terrifying, same with the end.

Something like French Impressionism meets Begotten. A range of experimental film techniques are used, and show that Bokanowski is undoubtedly a remarkable filmmaker. Otherwise, I didn't make much of this short film, which contains some striking imagery and a soundtrack I could give or take. I'd prefer it as a silent film, personally.

Impressively nightmarish debut from Bokanowski, with a rich texture of sounds and images that is both artistic and terrifying.

Worst porn film ever.

Some memorable images, but it was impossible to care about what was happening because what was happening seemed to be kind of random. Also, what's with the constant noise?
