Audran is miscast as a former exotic dancer despised by her wealthy in-laws, but if you can forget her character's lower middle class origins, the performance is fine. The ending is surprising and a little crazy, but--if you think about it--it all makes sense.

Between 1968 and 1971 Chabrol made six similar and spectacular thrillers in a row, and La Rupture, although it is possibly the least of them, is still excellent. His two most riveting recurring cast members of that period, Audran and Bouquet are both in it, and the story might tread some familiar ground mid-film, but ultimately it is unpredictable and the ending, although entirely coherent and plausible, is very strange.

Em honra de Stéphane Audran (1932 - 2018) filme #4 Nunca pensei encontrar um libelo feminista desses na filmografia do Chabrol, wow, just wow. DVDRip no MakingOff.
