Lady Godiva of Coventry

Colourful but rather broadly played historical piece seems a little too in awe of the 'scandalous' climax it is heading towards, though picks up considerably in its second half as a portrayal of court intrigue, until the 'shocking' final act. Nader as the lady's lord is amusingly smarmy, but otherwise the film is pretty bland stuff.

Not exactly great or historically accurate but fun and colorful. Set in medieval England with a Saxons vs. Normans theme. Maureen O'Hara as Godiva is lovely.

"Lady Godiva of Coventry" shines primarily due to Maureen O'Hara's presence. The film attempts to channel the spirit of a '50s swashbuckler but falls short in execution. Scenes lacking O'Hara feel less compelling. Additionally, the famous ride, despite implications, does not appear to feature nudity.
