Stop it, Disney. Just... stop it.

Having only seen the original a few hours earlier, this remake feels insincere as it adds half an hour of runtime seemingly as a trade for the charm. The racist Siamese cats are gone, replaced by vandalising cats now voiced by black-Americans. While the racial connotations in the original are problematic, Disney's strategy of sanitising 1950's America is somehow worse. A greater focus on humans, more voice-over and unnecessary plot changes undermine this film. Voice acting was decent though.

I dunno about those moving CGI mouths, man. Kinda uncanny valley shit; never adjusted to it through the whole film. Deletion of the Siamese song is an obvious cringey concession to modern sensibilities. Plot is still nice, and like pretty much all these live action Disney things it has a lush and painterly look with nice color that pops.

This lost pretty much all of the charm of the original and I hated the cgi dogs. One redeemable aspect was some of the voice acting.

The CG on the animals ranges from okay to really bad and often creepy looking. There's too much uncanny valley for me to handle. The voice acting was alright but it sounded like most of the actors weren't experienced in voice acting, and was kinda flat. All in all, it's okay, and some of the updates were probably for the better. I just think forcing stories designed for animation into realism kinda robs them of that childlike magic. That being said I think actual kids will probably love it.

Insultingly bad. So, biracial marriages were very common back in 50s? Is this how you erase history? I'm buying more $DIS.

For whatever reason, this film was a priority for me when Disney+ came out. I was never a fan of the original cartoon film, and as a whole, Disney's live-action remakes have been so-so....so, I wasn't sure what to expect with this. To keep it short, it's cutesy, has questionable visuals, but it's not anything I'd care to ever see again. I'd consider it somewhere in-between a Disney Channel Original Film and what the theaters release. Take that as you will.

I found it as enjoyable as the original. Great songs. The parts were it diverged from the original added to the story in an endearing way.

Why were the dogs so aggressively not real. Spooky.

It's not overwhelmingly awful, it just doesn't have a reason to exist.

This was not good, it was ugly and distracting and completely crap but the enough of the original story was there for me to get at least some enjoyment out of it.

Of the recent Disney updated (read: cash grab) adaptations, "Lady and the Tramp" is the least offensive. I believe my lack of distaste for this one was largely because I don't really remember any music from the original for them to have butchered by throwing away and starting from scratch for this one. As a story, it's pretty tame, pretty predictable, and pretty bearable.

First and foremost: Disney made the right decision to put this on Disney+. Perhaps they should have done the same with Dumbo. The movie itself is entertaining enough to watch once when browsing through your Disney+ library. Beyond that though, there's nothing particularly special about it. Being an original title at launch though, many people will have likely seen this, whereas, if it went theatrical, it would have bombed, badly, and rightly so.

Both Thompson's voice and the facial animation of Lady went on my nerves, but I liked Theroux's Tramp.

We really need to stop with the CGI animals as characters in a "live action" environment. It's creepy and makes for a lackluster presentation of story.

From the writer that brought you Computer Chess, Results and Support a Girls comes another Disney remake. Wait, did I say Disney remake? Finally, my boy Bujalski's getting paid! (The film itself is very mediocre)

entertaining but lacking charm or magic and I can't see anyone latching onto this as special for repeat viewings -- which is kinda what the benchmark is for these remakes, isn't it?

Disney's updated remake of their own Lady and the Tramp (1955), following their trend of making live-action adaptations of their classics. Also follows the trend of not touching the magic of the original. Not even close. Fills the time as a family movie, but that's about it. Nothing memorable about it. They even wasted the iconic spaghetti and meatball scene.

Some shots are stunning, and sometimes (just sometimes) the cgi used for the dogs isn't utterly horrifying. But that's pretty much it. Perhaps disney should just stop... please.
