A likeable, funny flick that never really transcends the conventions of the arrested development genre. The central cast are all on great form, though; Knightley, Moretz and Rockwell embody their roles perfectly. Retitled "Say When" for the UK.

I wish Shelton hadn't changed her direction styles since the excellent double whammy of 'Humpday' and 'Your Sister's Sister'. This isn't as bad as 'Touchy Feely', but I had some problems with it. First and foremost, I find Keira Knightley annoying here. Also, the themes are somewhat under-developed and the ending might be a tad too neat for us to buy into it. But it's definitely watchable, and Rockwell, Metz and Mol are shoe-ins for their respective roles.

Switches between bad and great pretty consistently. Fortunately the bad parts were pretty rare. Just a couple of cases of the writer not knowing how or wanting to lead or build up to shit and just going for sudden kitsch instead. I really enjoyed the initial oddness of the characters and the story. Sadly most of that got lost in the third act, which tied things up in somewhat disappointingly conventional manner. Great direction, though. And great acting. Brilliant Keira Knightley.

It's a feel-good, almost fairy tale world where the main character is given the space she needs to grow. Knightly, Moretz, and co-star Sam Rockwell keep you invested in the slightly silly story, and there's enough good-natured humor peppered in to leave you smiling as you leave the theater.

like it's literally some of the whitest shit ever with the main lead just unwilling to accept that she might be the problem but this is still good stuff. Funny and sweet.

Well-acted, cute, very feel-good. I enjoyed this one, maybe a bit more than I am willing to admit

This film never really got into third gear. I liked the concept of the age-mismatched characters, but couldn't buy into the casting of Knightley. Once again her face and demeanour failed to convince as an ordinary American woman. Plus, this concept of the "lost kidult" has been overdone lately - Greenberg, Young Adult, Frances Ha, Lena Dunham... This one was watchable but also felt like a waste of my time. Prefer it when Shelton goes more mature and dialogue-heavy, e.g. Your Sister's Sister.

The characters and plot feel thin as paper. Peppered with cringeworthy awkwardness

In Megan's story, "growing up" means leaving her boyfriend/fiancé of 10 years after she meets a new guy (Annika's father) whom she quite likes after a night of drunken sex. Framing it that way, it becomes more obvious that pursuing what you really want right now might not in fact be what's best for the long run. And it might not have anything at all to do with actually growing up. (pluggedin.com)

Shelton got all these Hollywood actors and wasted them on very formulaic, insignificant romantic drama about woman's coming of age. Not worth the time.

Apparently, I need to befriend a teenager followed by banging their parent to get through my quarter life crisis. As a notorious slacker with no clear direction in life or even real intentions of growing up, I could greatly relate to Keira's character. Not a life changing movie, but I found it comforting watching someone in a similar situation and making mistakes while trying to figure things out. Great chemistry between Knightley, Rockwell & Moretz.

Rockwell is as off-putting and unlikable as usual in this painfully improbable tale of growing either back or sideways, but certainly not growing up. The only arc worth watching is that of Moretz's character, who probably should have been the focus of the film.

Intermittently charming. The direction and cast are clever, but the script is ultimately too imprisoned by the conventions of its genre.

Refreshing to see a female-centric film about that scary time before you turn 30. A bit directionless in the end, but this is the most charming and empathetic I've seen Keira Knightley in a long time, even if her American accent is spotty. She, Rockwell, and Moretz have an easy, comfortable chemistry, though the supporting characters (including Kemper's shrill Best Friend and Webber's needy, simpering Boyfriend) are cartoonishly sketched.

Aside from the cheap tv-production and kind of cop out ending, this movie has two things going for it: a good script and sam rockwell. Plus, a friend of a friend of a friend's friend is an aimless loser who's stuck in the past, too. So i managed to relate.

It's a bit of a strange movie. The plot's rather unbelievable on multiple levels, it has a number of super awkward moments, and the ending just leaves so much unresolved. Even with these shortcomings I found that I still enjoyed the ride. The main characters are charming enough and even though the plot felt a bit over the top, it still left me with a little to think about. It's not a movie I'd necessarily want to watch again, but I felt like it was a decent movie.

I am not fully buying into the conclusions that Knightly's character arrives at, or the series of events that build the premise. Rockwell is great as always. It has its moments of charm and insight. Laggies is just missing elements to make it stand out from the crowd.
