L'amour d'une femme

One of those movies you wish you could walk into.

This early feminist movie about a single female doctor who has to chose between her career and the man she loves, was way ahead of its time in its progressive message. That the movie stil engages now, is a testament to Grémillon's directing and Presle‘s acting skills. This is a very ambigious drama in which we both feel sad for the loss of her love, but also glad for her future happinesses. The movie is bolstered by being shot mostly on location, showing life on a Breton island in the 50s.
