This is an interesting idea for a film; an alternate reality in which quantum computing is realised at scale for high-frequency trading as made possible by a gig-based cabling industry. However, Noah Hutton lacks the nous of Shane Carruth, who he is clearly imitating, to successfully pull this off (watch 'Upstream Colour' and 'Primer' instead). Also, the unnecessary 'feel good' storyline concerning the sickly brother, is ripped straight from Todd Haynes' 'Safe'. I do like Frank Wood.

This is a somewhat mysterious, slightly sinister and definitely exploitative film, plot wise, not content wise, about the futuristic gig economy. Some aspects of it made me think of the Ken Loach film 'Sorry We Missed You' and others of 'The Lobster'. It makes you think about the threat of digital technology superceding human capability. I wish we knew more about the main characters brother, who's suffering from 'Omnia'. That intrigued me more but it's not a fully fleshed out sub-plot. Shame.

Engaging dystopian story that has loads going for it; the visual design is particularly striking. It works, just. But it feels like there's more here that could have been done with the excellent ingredients.
