While the first film had more positive points than negative to make a somewhat enjoyable experience this sequel is just bad. The scenes are very loosely tied together and nothing seems to flow properly. Angelina Jolie is hot though which forced me to put this movie into the 20s instead of the 10s.

Fucking awful. The first one was bad, but this takes the franchise down a whole new level. Crammed with weak characters, pointless scenes, a guff plot, awful dialogue - plus everyone's favorite; casual racism!

A retched turd of a film that offers the viewer nothing but poorly crafted and unoriginal action scenes, that are linked together by a frankly idiotic plot, a terrible script and some awful acting. The films only asset is Jolie, who may look good, but at the same time relegates this film, to a film that has undoubtedly been aimed at young lads who are just getting the first hairs on their ball sacks!

In many ways more polished and effective as an action film than its predecessor, but loses some of the first film's organic (and silly) fun in the exchange, leaving this one a little limp.

Even the action scenes were a bit disappointing to me (my favorite part was seeing "Spongebob", dubbed into a foreign language, on one of the character's TV screens). It was entertaining enough, just not quite what I'd hoped for.

Good esacpist adventure. A little predictable by saved from being too banal by an excellent performance from Angelina Jolie who, aside from looking incredibly desirable as usual, handles this with just the right mix of seriousness and fun.

The Cradle of Life is a bad movie. The action scenes are dull, the plot doesn't make much sense, and it suffers from logical issues which I simply hate. It almost completely ignores its predecessor too, which is probably not a bad thing considering this movie makes the first one look great by comparison. If I wanted more Lara Croft after the first film, this one killed all of that possible desire. This is an example of a terrible sequel to a movie that wasn't good in the first place.

Much better than the first film, and aided by the fun and easy-going chemistry between Jolie and Butler, but this is still fairly dull and predictable stuff and suffers by comparison to its clear inspiration INDIANA JONES (down to Silvestri's Williams-ish score). Some competently staged action scenes liven things up from time to time, but why spend so much time on a redundant motorcycle chase with nothing at stake?

There are two qualities that a typical moviegoer needs to have in order to properly enjoy The Cradle of Life enough to gain a recommendation from me: the hots for Angelina Jolie and/or a high tolerance for a derivative story and plot for some escapist action and adventure.

Even the myriad fight scenes barely make up for this sequel's lacklustre result. A drooping budget and storyline that stumbles from one set-piece to another makes it fairly obvious this is red-headed stepchild to its rather more coherent precursor. Watch it solely for Angelina Jolie's excellent use of an unloaded WW2-era Enfield rifle as a hand-to-hand weapon...

The film begins in a sweeping rush over the water toward Santorini, the volcanic Greek island best known for the Late Bronze Age site Akrotiri with its magnificent frescoes. We don't get to see the frescoes. The quake has shaken loose wonderful things from an ancient seafloor site, and the next day treasure hunters are diving in the area and pulling up bronze statues. When Croft makes her appearance, her crew of looters complains, "Half the world's raiders are here and you make us wait."

Most of the movie is just boring action set piece after boring action set piece. Its not that much worse then the first movie when it comes to that, but a longer running time and the really boring relationship between the two main characters makes this a harder movie to sit through then the first one.

The Cradle of Life doesn't learn from any of the mistakes of it's predocessor and it feels like a complete re-run of events. Angelina Jolie pops up in a ridiculous set piece, change of outfit, goes to another country, another ridiculous set piece, change of outfit, another country... And so on and so forth. Two films of lifeless characters, awful dialogue and moronic story telling. But in the right hands, the source material is there to be adapted and I would welcome a worthy Tomb Raider film.

At least Jan de Bont movies always have excellent cinematography. This movie is a goddamn mess, though - and this is coming from someone who enjoyed the first Tomb Raider movie for what it was. Manages to pull out a decent climax at the end, and I always like Ciaran Hinds, but as a whole, this alternates between nonsensical and utterly boring.

Tomb Raider almost without any tombs. And that's not even the worst problem this film has. While the first film was at the very least watchable, this one isn't. It's too long, the story make absolutely no sense, the pacing is weird, ... It's just so boring and definietly one of the worst film experiences for me. The only plus I will give this film is the soundtrack that reminded me of the Tomb Raider: Legend game and that's it.

Top badass moment? On her way to a cosplay party as Seven of Nine, the archaeologist with the worst English accent since Dick Van Dyke takes time out to trash yet more ancient artefacts, punch a shark in the face and visit more countries than James Bond. Unfortunately this doesn't leave time for Ace Rimmer to do anything, although the film does get extra brownie points for the surprisingly dark ending. No cats or chainsaws, or decapitations (except loads of priceless, Terracotta warriors).

I'm pretty sure I understood the plot of Primer on my first viewing more than I understood what was going on here. Angelina Jolie hops around the world, beating people up, jumping off buildings, jumping out of helicopters, beating more people up, punching sharks, and... yeah, that's about it. Absolute dreck.
