Teenage misanthrope Billy finds an alien laser cannon in the desert and uses it to destroy his enemies, not realizing that the weapon will slowly transform him into an alien. It's got some surprisingly effective stop motion work, and a bunch of shit gets blown up real good, but the script and acting are just putrid. Super lame ending, too.

Well, we killed another one, that will take care of the problem. I'm sure no one else down there will attempt to use the alien technology we left behind... again.

Billy when he turns into David Bowie wanders around the desert like a drunk man at an Appelebees. This film is hilariously bad without the MST3K commentary. When you make a sci fi film this shitty it has to be watched just for well, science.

Haley Joel Osment pays it forward using only his sixth sense and a powerglove stolen from a pair of lizards (one of which may or may not have been Fred Savage). Say what you will about Laserblast...the science is still more solid than that found in the Hunger Games.

This movie means two things to me: sheet cake and back fat. God Bless MST3K.

There is a scene where the main character blasts a sign for the movie "Star Wars" into bits...was this movie the director's answer to what he believed to be a flawed Sci Fi film? We may never know, but this movie is flawed...very, very flawed.

Wow what a weird movie. The aliens are pretty cute though, but as a whole this movie has unnecessary and overly long takes, bad acting and a very abrupt endi-.

MST3k 70/100. Cool alien stop motion effects and it's always fun seeing stuff blow up. Cute girls at the pool party. Abrupt ending. Why leave the dangerous weapon around? Fav scenes: pool party; shooting at a plane.

15 points for the surprisingly decent stopmotion animation. 5 points for the repressed George Lucas hate.

There's potential in casting the usual power-fantasy protagonist in a villainous light, and stop motion aliens are very cool, but it's too meandering and everyone in it is too much of a dweeb.

IT has a few interesting moments and the animation is good, but mostly incoherent plot and excuses to blow up shit.

Wow! Truly a blast! Totally freaky stop-motion animation, and even some nice practical effects of cars blown to bits, what more can you ask? Sensible plot maybe, but hey, not on this budget. Practically demands viewing as a drinking game.

If a decent editor had a crack at this it would end up like ten minutes long. At least the aliens were funny.

With the current state of safety in schools from maniac teens, this seems fresh and topical.

This plot just goes nowhere for most of the movie. Could easily be summed up guy finds laser, it corrupts him, he has to be stopped. The end. There's nothing further. Watched via MST3K which made it passable only. "I miss Eddie Deezen."

Wow this is a raging piece of shit. Worst Charles Band film I've ever seen and actually makes most of the Troma films look decent.

On the plus side: 1. Cherly "Rainbeaux" Smith 2. When things blow up ... they REALLY blow up. The effects are so good they're shown 2 or 3 times in a row every time. 3. Cherly "Rainbeaux" Smith 4. Wonderful stop motion aliens. 5. The aliens talk gibberish and are never subtitled. 6. Cherly "Rainbeaux" Smith 7. Things BLOW UP. 8. It has a relaxed 70's California vibe that feels like zero effort was expended on anything to do with the film. 9. Cherly "Rainbeaux" Smith

This makes no sense at all. Not even a little. God only knows what they were trying to do. Too bad the sequel never took off.

There are better movies and there are worse movies. This is the worse of the worse. Watching with some friends where you are half focused, sure. But watching it as a Friday night movie never ever in a million years.
