I was pretty surprised that I liked this movie considering its ridiculous premise.

Rewatched. Travel porn, food porn, Queen Latifah, and Depardieu make for a fine fat lazy film. Double featured with Godard's Week End.

Affable reworking of the 1950 Alec Guinness film, with Latifah in good form. Squanders its good vibes by going on too long toward an obvious conclusion, but Latifah's warmhearted performance carries it most of the way.

Queen Latifah is just awesome in this movie. She has so much personality and charisma, and she's so endearing. I loved her in this movie, and while the movie itself is winning on it's own merits, she is what makes it special. Plus Gerard Depardieu is always a great asset to any movie. And there's even a Food Network tie-in, and I love Food Network.

This movie was actually not to bad, though it is like alot of your happy ending storys the plot was well thoguht out, Yet predictable though you could understand and familiarize with the lead character.

What should be an unremarkable, cliched film is carried into truly enjoyable territory by Queen Latifah's charming and infectious performance.

"One might gladly exercise the film's carpe-diem moral by concluding that life is too short for movies like Last Holiday." - Fernando F. Croce

The movie is bare-bones to be sure. The story line and humor is nothing new at all. If nothing else will pull you in, Queen Latifa and Gérard Depardieu are tremendous actors and the true heart and soul of Last Holiday.

It is not funny, Latifah is bad, but the movie has his moments.
