It's all about expectations. You may just end up having more fun than you thought you would. This can easily compete with a big studio release like the recent Fantastic Four, if you know what I mean.

Oh, comedy sci-fi. A more-sober man might proclaim your genre the true reason why Jocks despise Nerds; the true reason why Z will never be a clever replacement for S. I, however--I just kindly ask that you pass me another glass of refreshing paint thinner so I can forget I spent a perfectly dismal Sunday morning watching this modern-day adaptation of Hee Haw. Oh, but hey! The special effects were amazing for such a low budget (read: slightly better than a Youtube trailer for Banjo-Kazooie).

One critic called it "the anti-Pixels" but it's really only a few steps above the typical Adam Sandler trash. I like Rooster Teeth but this is NOT Red vs Blue any shape or form, except for the fact that they're both sci-fi comedies. A few gags worked, like with the stereotypical redneck Woody, but the laughs didn't come often. I had to wade through a lot of shit to find any gold nuggets. The special effects were totally competent though.

Decent. Nothing special. It could have been much worse, so there's that. My main gripe with this movie is that if you're trying to make a comedy, you should actually make it funny, instead of focusing hard on the " serious plot fueled by awful cgi. The bits of humor were on point though.

Scraping the barrel of the superhero movement. Superpowers for idiots and it manages to be far less impressive then Pixels (2015).

It’s not good, but it’s fun. There are quite a few decent jokes, which for me makes it funnier than some mainstream comedies. The pacing is good as well, which helps. The faults come from most of the acting and the script. There was some awful dialogue in places (the line about being caught drinking by your dad and a cop, pure cringe), and the story was pretty generic. For acting, I enjoyed Michael’s performance and character, Burnie’s ranged from okay to pretty bad, etc.
