The movie Bonifacio and Famiglietti have made is much better as a bittersweet family portrait. But those in search of a mirror for their own weight issues will find a deluxe one here.

"If you were to write an utterly predictable tale of a druggie and then replace "slice of pizza" for every instance of "cocaine" in the script you would get Lbs." - Diego Costa

Though it dangerously treads in and out of predictable territory, Lbs. is a solid film with believable performances and a decent script. I would have preferred the family's plot line to have been expanded on more, as it was interesting to see the dynamics of an Italian-American family.
