Great to see Jean Gabin again! He didn't make many movies in the 1940s. His least productive decade. But he ends it with a good one. At least from his point of view. This counterfeit story doesn't always have momentum, but he was always the draw, and he had a good thing going with Isa Miranda, making it a worth-wild lowlife depiction.
