Le Père Noël est une ordure

I watched >1300 movies and this film is one of maybe ten that I deeply, completely hated. It is a mean-spirited, ugly kind of sense of humor which did not appeal to me at all. The stuff with the Bulgarian character was borderline offensive. Chazel's "White trash" act is a tired one. The only actor that shined was Clavier, I don't know why he wasted so much time with Poire and his two-bit movies. There were only two scenes in the whole movie that I found any cinematic beauty hence the vote 2/100.

My vaforite comedy. The film is based on a successful theatre plot.

Great dark comedy set on Christmas Eve. Only sore spot for me was the overused foreigner bit. Rewatch: one of my fav Xmas movies. Hilarity in almost every line/delivery. Fav scene: dropping the dish outside and the comment about not wanting to harm any sniffing dogs.

Downright crazy and hilarious, just the way I like 'em.

After watching this I have to say that I actually prefer the American remake "Mixed Nuts" to this mostly unfunny black comedy

There seems to be a few of these offbeat French Christmas films. This one has some very dark humor which I'm usually a fan of, but this one just didn't work at all. Maybe it's too French - or too outdated, but the jokes fell flat and I never cared about any of the characters. It's obviously always been un-PC and designed to shock the audiences, but some characters have additionally dated very badly which adds another layer on top of it. Some might see that as a plus. I'll stick to Bad Santa etc.
