Outstanding color-play. Doesn't make much sense, but god damn this is mesmerizing stuff. One of the gems of the early films.

People were high on editing back then, watch "The Enchanted Drawing" aswell.

Well made and reasonably impressive for it's time but it lacks something beyond the colours to hold your interest for even its 150 second runtime.

Not sure what's going on but I like the colors

A pretty surreal 3 minutes, director Segundo de Chomón incorporates a Georges Méliès approach of using camera tricks to create a fantastical series of images but this short lacks the pioneering inventiveness & humour of Méliès - although it has a pleasant dreamlike quality which makes it nice to watch.

A fun little short, with plenty of enchanting images. It's not really about much, and doesn't really do much, so it's kind of a one trick pony. When I think of movies consolidated down to a single thought, it doesn't get any better than The Men Who Tread On the Tiger's Tail, because those things still take time to breathe. I think The Golden Beetle would have benefited from a few more minutes of intro and resolution, something beyond just rising action. Not bad, and well worth a quick watch.

Less than 3 minutes of delirious, delightful, hallucinogenic fantasy. You can sense a pure enthusiasm for the possibilities of the medium.
