It's a epic French movie involving the story of Marie-Antoinette being kept prisoner and made right before the outbreak of World War 1. Albert Capellani tries to direct an suspenseful film, but in many ways fails to make this the grand experience it should have been. While a solid movie with fine costumes, plenty going on and a heroin that needs to be saved, this becomes for the most part a yawn where the action never really touches you. It's not a total failure, but should have been better.
