Original movie version of The Postman Always Rings Twice! French production headed by Pierre Chenal interpreting James M. Cain novel with Fernand Gravey & Corinne Luchaire as the lovers plotting the murder of her husband Michel Simon! Needless to say Simon always steals a picture with his eccentrics and he does it again. Shame he couldn't be in this all the way through because he's missed. I wouldn't say this is a perfect adaptation, but there is a daunting darkness lurking all the way through.
