Melies himself as The Devil. It's three minutes of one take from a stationary camera, but Melies continues to impress me with how much stuff he jammed into these little films of his. This movie makes being Satan look like... well... a hell of a lot of fun. What's more, he never does anything anywhere nearly as bad as molesting the choirboys, as seems to have been rampant in the church from the dawn of time

Another crazy stop-trick extravaganza. Méliès sure had a wilder imagination than anyone else making films in the 19th century.
