Le faux magistrat

(Rating and review apply to entire series.) A predictable but still enjoyable excursion into the distant past of cinema. While not all sensibilities of the era have lasted, there is a certain suspense and uneasiness that is impressive even today.

Strong consistent note on which to end the series. It continues in the same style as the preceding chapters and comes to a well done ending.

Solid but doesn't really do anything new.

Ora bolas, eu achando que ia assitir um thriller do cinema mudo e me vem uma alegoria à frente de seu tempo do judiciário brasileiro. Falando sério, é um fim bem digno para a série do Feuillade, a vilania do Fantômas é precedente de todos os grandes psicopatas do cinema.

Easily the best of the series with some of the best individual scenes. I wish there were more from this point on.

Rating for all parts of series. This isn't quite as good as Les Vampires, but if you like one you'll probably like the other. A similar feel and a lot of similar ideas (mastermind criminal organizations, outrageous crimes, silly fun plots, some goofy fun set-pieces, etc.) The restoration I saw of this, from 2013, was astounding--it looked like true HD. Watch Les Vampires first and if you like that, give this a whirl.
