This spooky atmosphered French mystery had my attention. There was an alluring vibe to Le loup des Malveneur (1943), even if it wasn't exactly scary or that eventful. It was more the wondering what was lurking in the castle and I felt they paced it nicely. There just wasn't enough thrill to what did happen to take advantage of it.
