More human insight and interest in the process than Cameron's iteration decades later. Sleek silver diving suits along with a genuine feeling of exploration garnish the content of 'the world without sun'. Any drama is classically built through the score and the unfathomable designs of the creatures captured on film. Feels like a heavy influence for Life Aquatic too.
