Le ravissement de Frank N. Stein

Le ravissement de Frank N. Stein

The slow construction of an image, to a rhythm of footsteps, ends with the meeting of the monster and his fiancé. Using a subjective vision, the viewer is literally in the position of the monster and crosses several rooms filled with objects and beings along the line of progression until emerging into the face of the loved one who lets off a cry of horror. Pretty cool. The repetitive nature of it gives it a superb mindless feel, yet the changes as we go through each door stop this from being a dull bore. The ending is bananas, rather unexpected, and very much changes how I thought about the rest of this short (though certainly didn't hinder my enjoyment). The electro-industrial soundtrack is also very cool, no wonder Daniel Lopatin is a fan.

It's okay, seems like something you'd do on an old Apple II computer.

Somewhat clever and definitely weird. I don't find the animation especially attractive here. Sort of feels like a dream inspired by an old computer game.
